We are working with an established packaging manufacturing company based in the Wirral. They are recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a 2 shift pattern (Mon-Fri) in return for a salary in the region of GBP46,000 along with overtime opportunity and additional training and development.

The Maintenance Engineer needs to possess a strong hands-on background in mechanical and electrical skills directly related to operating in a 24/5 manufacturing environment . Requires considerable working knowledge of PLC s, drives, HMI s and associated electronic equipment. Must be willing and able to undertake additional training and development as needed to work to and uphold standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Following planned, preventative maintenance schedules
• Reacting quickly to machinery breakdowns
• Reading engineering drawings and schematics
• Servicing machinery
• Mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair
• PLC fault finding
• Working with other departments to ensure production continues running
• Recording all work carried out

Qualifications & Experience required:

• City and Guilds / Level 3 qualification in Engineering
• Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship
