Job Description:


As a Corporate Security Advisor, you will provide expertise, guidance, and strategic advice to businesses, functions and organizational units on matters related to security and integrity risk management.

Your primary responsibility is to help protect the company's assets, employees, business functionality, and reputation by identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities, and advising on the implementation of mitigating measures.

Corporate Security Advisors play a crucial role in safeguarding SGS.

Their work is essential for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and stakeholders while minimizing potential risks to the organization.


This is a field-based role that requires the post-holder to work unsupervised in often challenging situations, and to possess a high level of personal discipline and commitment.

The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:

  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential internal and external security threats to the organization's assets, personnel, or operations.
  • Analysing data pertaining to financial transactions, service delivery, and other business processes.
  • Developing and helping implement security policies, protocols, and procedures tailored to the specific needs and risks of the company.
  • Creating plans to respond to emergencies and crisis situations, such as natural disasters, civil strife, cyberattacks, or workplace violence, and coordinating the appropriate response actions.
  • Advising on the design, implementation and management of physical security measures, such as access control systems, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems.
  • Advising on the design, implementation and management of procedural and process controls, such as effective monitoring and supervision to ensure all relevant data and associated evidence are collected and held.
  • Conducting investigations into security breaches or incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with other functions, such as Finance, HR and Cybersecurity teams to protect the organization's digital assets and sensitive information.
  • Conducting security awareness training programs to educate management and employees about security best practices and protocols.
  • Ensuring that the company adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security, integrity, and other aspects of compliance.
  • Monitoring security intelligence sources and staying updated on emerging security threats and trends.

Vendor and Contractor Management:
evaluating the security practices of third-party vendors and contractors to ensure they meet the company's security standards


Qualifications:


Education (Essential)

  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and any additional European language

Experience (Essential)

  • At least 5 years of professional experience working in the industry and specifically in fields related to the SGS Business Lines.
  • Experience in working within a matrix organization.

Required Skill

  • Driven, dedicated, able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Excellent listening & communication skills, Report writing skills, Training & education delivery skills.
  • High levels of empathy, with ability to communicate with and respond to all levels of employee, and ability to 'think criminal' and empathise with offender perspectives.

  • Advanced skills in Excel (e.g., Cross Tabulation/Pivot Tables) and similar data management packages (e.g., i2 Analysts' Notebook).
  • Ability to extract and understand metadata.
