As a Barclays Relationship Director - Retail and Wholesale Large Corporate, you will have an exciting chance to oversee the growth and development of relationships with a portfolio of clients.

In your role, you will be acting as the gateway to Barclays group and primary contact point for external clients, developing income and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction from this portfolio through creating deep, multi-stakeholder relationships with both existing and new contacts whilst ensuring effective risk management.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing a portfolio of complex and strategically important customer relationships, maximising sustainable income and client profitability through excellent service
  • Building effective relationships with new and existing clients and stakeholders, across the Corporate Bank enhancing returns and an increased revenue
  • Driving the sales and growth of the portfolio through regular reviews, solutionbased approach using market and industry information with the clients
  • Delivering market pitching materials to clients, demonstrating deep sector and product expertise
  • Structuring, pricing, negotiation of terms for new debt deals for existing and new clients and adherence to pricing policies for debt, credit balances, money transmission products
  • Managing crossdiscipline Deal Teams to increase return on tangible equity and improve capital efficiency through the restructuring of existing loans and provision of new lending
  • Ensuring effective risk management and working as a cohesive team with specialist managers carrying out Enhanced Due Diligence reviews for your portfolio of clients

What we're looking for:


  • Experienced in leading complex client relationships and/or coverage role with exposure to complex clients and has demonstrable ability to support such relationships with confidence
  • Requires a good knowledge of corporate banking products and services including those linked to cash management, cards and FX solutions
  • Experience of deals, delivering client transactions, products or services, credit risk analysis, debt structuring, Loan financing, regulatory and financial crime risk
  • Problem solving skills will be required to deliver products and solutions in complex situations for an extremely high growth client base with bespoke needs

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Existing experience working with firms in the Business retail and wholesale sector would be beneficial
  • Excellent and proven project management skills to work with different internal stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes for clients/the firms reporting capabilities
  • Understanding of products such as management, payments, liquidity management, structured debt solutions and trade
  • A track record of success in business development and managing a portfolio of Corporate clients and Knowledge of up to date with industry news, corporate transactions

Barclays Snowhill is at the heart of the professional district and commands a workforce of around 1000. With great transport links to Birmingham Grand Central and Snowhill train stations as well as the local metro. Our office has a dedicated staff coffee shop and deli and break out areas for staff.
