    Subject Leader of Computer Science and IT (with TLR1d) - Full Time

    MPS/UPS (Fringe): £31,350 - £47,839 FTE + TLR1d (£9,272)

    Are you an enthusiastic and dynamic Computer Science teacher with the skills to lead the Computer Science and IT curriculum and support digital learning across our excellent school?

    At St Mary's we work tenaciously to ensure that Computer Science and IT is an enjoyable, interesting and worthwhile experience for all pupils. We aim to foster pupils' perseverance and resourcefulness in solving problems and to develop their ability to think logically yet creatively, leading to an affinity with the subject and excellent outcomes.

    The Computing curriculum at St Mary's envisions a future in which students:

    · Critically engage in public discussion on computer science topics;

    · Develop as learners, users, and creators of computer science knowledge and artefacts;

    · Better understand the role of computing in the world around them; and

    · Use technology to learn, perform, and express themselves in other subjects and interests.

    The successful candidate will have secondary school Computer Science and IT teaching experience and up-to-date specialist knowledge, as well as the management skills to continue the development of their department. The position would suit either an experienced Head of Department looking for their next move or someone seeking their first departmental management role.

    You will have the ability to teach Key Stages 3-5 and be responsible for leading Computer Science, IT and ensure the delivery of extracurricular activities. Enthusiasm for the subject, overall teaching expertise and professionalism are vital so as to inspire the students' thirst for learning.
