    AWE is currently recruiting for a Senior Pulsed Power Engineer (C1)

    The Engineering Trials & Test Group are looking for a Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer to work with a mixed discipline electrical & electronic team within the Orion laser facility.

    This is a Technical Leadership and enabling role, to support the team and team leader, driving technical direction, projects & process improvements to maintain and operate the laser's main Pulsed Power System.

    Competent, Nominated, Authorised or Senior Authorised Person Electrical; Asset Change Manager, Risk Assessor; Whilst full training will be provided, knowledge and experience of Pulsed Power systems is hugely desirable, although this would be a good opportunity for someone with a proven track record of maintenance experience working on complex systems, fault diagnosis and repair of HV, LV, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical components having worked in a similar function or sector; Utilities, Renewables, FMCG, Manufacturing or Facilities, who can support the Team Lead to implement best practice & new ways of working and to help to coach & mentor junior members of the team in technical techniques.

    Expedite the planning and execution of tasks in order to deliver specific agreed objectives on time; demonstrating control and accountability of cost and quality.

    Understands the hazards and associated risks of any work conducted and, where required, safely use specialised equipment.

    All - Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.

    Produce high quality technical reports and presentations.

    Delivery of Conceptual designs, Detail designs, Manufacturing specifications, Operational documentation and Validation evidence for Mechanical engineering solutions in relation to defined requirements.

    Produce high quality scoping documents, plans and estimates for future activities.
    Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
    Organise personal training and development under the guidance of a professional mentor.

    Electrical equipment of machines General requirements
    Preparing documentation, writing reports and giving presentations
    Recording and analyses of test data
    Verifying compliance with electrical and construction safety regulations (e.g. In service Inspection and Test (PAT), BS7671 18th Edition, City and Guilds
