About the role:

We are now looking for an experienced Head of Packaging Technology who thrives in a friendly, non-hierarchical, 'consumer focused and customer driven' high performance culture to identify, lead and implement packaging innovation, sustainability and cost out initiatives for all sites across Hilton Foods, based on customer requirements, consumer insights and market/business requirements.

This role will suit a Head of Packaging Technology who ideally is looking to join a business that will offer a long term career and massive progression opportunities.

To succeed as a Head of Packaging Technology we ask that you have the following experience/expertise:

Good working and technical knowledge of food packing formats and materials, found in retail stores today.
The ability to travel across Europe to spread best practice and engage in trials at all sites.
Creativity and skills to introduce new innovative pack formats, ensuring consideration to the environment, shelf life and added value.
Excellent team working abilities.
Previous experience in a similar environment is preferable, due to the unique working conditions when on the factory floor.
Good attention to detail and be able to analyse, trouble shoot, and problem solve.
Good organisational skills to be able to manage multiple projects across multiple sites.
Good people skills, and able to take people on a journey

As a Head of Packaging Technology some of the responsibilities will be to:

Develop and progress new packaging solutions on a regional and global scale, ensuring packaging is fit for purpose (by leading the completion of testing and trials), and by following packaging development best practices.
Sharing best practise and learnings across all sites, in relation to packaging development
Manage packaging technical data using available systems such as Foods Connected project data, specifications, and test results.
Work with suppliers and other organisations to identify new and innovative packaging solutions, and work on projects to bring these to market.
Understand the sustainability requirements of Hilton Foods and develop and implement initiatives in line with its requirements
Work with external bodies in ensuring that Hilton Foods continues to lead in both sustainability and innovation
Contribute towards Group Packaging Strategy for Hilton Foods
