Salary:
Up to £80,000 (Subject to experience)


Classic 10 is partnering with an established Complex Care provider in the search for a Head of Paediatrics to join their expanding team.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer and Board of Directors, this role involves overseeing the Paediatric Clinical Team and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality and cost-effective service.

Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as supporting the Board in achieving business objectives and mobilizing new care packages.


Main Clinical Duties

  • Lead and guide the Senior Paediatric Clinical team, ensuring fulfilment of clinical needs in quality, audit, program, and client aspects.
  • Personally, or through delegation, deliver highquality complex care services to clients in compliance with CQC, NMC, and professional standards.
  • Collaborate with ICBs, establish regular contact for additional packages, and assist in developing new packages.
  • Offer clinically accurate advice, undertake assessments, and ensure accuracy of all clinical documentation.
  • Ensure clinical visits adhere to CQC and Care Act regulations and update care plans as needed.
  • Support Paediatric Clinical Leads in planning individualized care, providing advice to refer clients to health professionals.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients, families, and external organizations, ensuring high client satisfaction through effective communication.
  • Respond to clinical crises, provide guidance, and offer expertise in Serious Incidents or Inquests,
  • Delegate investigation of clinical incidents according to policies and Care Act, reporting incidents to relevant bodies promptly.
  • Manage complaints in accordance with CQC, NHS contract terms, and Ombudsman requirements.
  • Facilitate regular feedback from families and service users, managing oncall Clinical Leads rota for outofhours coverage.
  • Be aware of nurse allocation and ensure effective duty performance of CLs and Area CLs.
  • Oversee induction programs for new staff, provide coaching and mentoring for all employees, including Senior Management.
  • Ensure the clients meets CQC and NHS Standard Contract requirements for The Care Certificate and mandatory training.
  • Liaise with Clinical Education department to meet business training needs and delegate the maintenance of staff competencies to the clinical team.
  • Provide support for team appraisals, field visits, and motivation.

Main Board Duties

  • Contribute effectively to the Board of Directors, advising on clinical safety, collaborating with the senior management team, and providing expertise in various business areas.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, measure operational efficiency, and empower operational teams for performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with HR for recruitment and retention, ensure compliance with CQC regulations for a Registered Manager post, and implement qualitative auditing across departments.
  • Lead the business through regulatory inspections, delegate supervision and appraisals, and serve as a positive role model for clinical staff and external health professionals.
The role offers a clear pathway to director level


About you

  • Registered Children's Nurse, RCN or RSCN
  • Minimum 10 years post registration experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience within ICU/HDU/PICU/NICU or Complex Care environment
  • Must have experience relevant to the professional aspects of Complex Care.
  • Supervisory and Management experience and excellent interpersonal skills.

Salary:
£70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
