The role
As a Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) Maintainer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

As a team member you will be trained to launch, recover and maintain this unique platform and deliver world class unmanned capabilities around the UK and beyond, as part of a developing Sovereign capability.

Working within the team you will also be a key part of the mission planning activities working closely with Babcock's civil, military and government customers.


Day to day, you'll be involved in:

  • Servicing & repairs to aviation standards ensure regulatory compliance
  • Airframe preparation and assembly
  • Component preparation, inventory management and report generation
  • Electronics soldering & wiring harness preparation and repair
  • Avionics & autopilot integration and setup

Essential experience of the Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) Maintainer

  • Ability to learn and utilise to a high level, data analysis software for testing of sensor payloads
  • Ability to understand instructions from software engineers and prepare onboard processing OS and compiling of code and apps under direction
  • Understanding of ISO/quality control principles


This role is based onsite at Ashchurch and you must be able and willing to travel within the UK and overseas.


Qualifications for the Remote Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) Maintainer

  • Completion of an EASA Part147 training course or Aircraft Maintenance qualification Part 66 or either categories A, B1 B2 or B3 or demonstrate equivalent knowledge
  • You will hold a degree or Higher National Qualification in a relevant engineering field or provide evidence that you hold relevant experience in an engineering role that is equivalent to these qualifications
