    We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stocken, a category C Prison located in Oakham.

    Hours

    The site currently offers Mon-Fri 07:30-17:30

    Sat/Sun/bank hols 08:30-17:30

    Salary

    This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to 38,115 per annum - depending on experience.

    Main duties of the job

    As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • You will provide medicines management services to assist in tackling identified, inequalities within the prison population contributing to diagnosis of care and treatment needs
  • Assist with the implementation and development of pharmacy support to all wings in the prison which includes, where appropriate, counselling of patients on the correct use of medication
  • you will be responsible for dispensing medicines to agreed standards, calculating doses and quantities for supply where there is a specific requirement for accuracy Methadone preparation.

  • You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC)
  • You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
  • Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
