We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stocken, a category C Prison located in Oakham.

Hours

The site currently offers Mon-Fri 07:30-17:30

Sat/Sun/bank hols 08:30-17:30

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to 38,115 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

You will provide medicines management services to assist in tackling identified, inequalities within the prison population contributing to diagnosis of care and treatment needs

Assist with the implementation and development of pharmacy support to all wings in the prison which includes, where appropriate, counselling of patients on the correct use of medication

you will be responsible for dispensing medicines to agreed standards, calculating doses and quantities for supply where there is a specific requirement for accuracy Methadone preparation.

You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC)

You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.

Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
