Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Support Officer to join our new Procurement and Contracts service for our client Councils, the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership and across our company


Our Councils and Company are looking to phase our external procurement arrangements back to an in-house model which will set out and develop a new procurement strategy, identify an efficiencies plan for procurement activity and in the medium to long term, develop a commercial model to generate income.


Joining our new service, you will be given the opportunity to kick start your career in an exciting and growing company and you will be able to shape this new role within our newly appointed Procurement team.

There will be an opportunity to study towards CIPS qualification fully funded.


Working as part of a professional team, you will support our newly appointed Head of Procurement and the procurement team across the councils to drive best procurement practice business wide.


You will support the Procurement & Contracts team by:

  • Assisting
    PSPS & the client Councils to effectively manage contracts
  • Collect contract performance data based on agreed key performance indicators / service level agreements.
  • Support with any contractual negotiations, and take minutes at these, as necessary.
  • Analyse spend data and compare this with tendered rates on
    PSPS & client Councils major contracts
  • Dealing with daytoday queries from suppliers, service users, and the internal team.
  • Producing reports, as and when required, to present any success stories / issues of concern.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys ensuring that processes are in place to monitor and manage contracts effectively, ensuring value for money continues post contract award.

Previous contractual experience would certainly be advantageous and being a self-motivated person with a flexible and positive approach will be a requirement.

  • Excellent Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills, impeccably organised, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Good communication skills to engage with all areas of the business and with stakeholders of varying seniority with conviction.
  • High attention to detail and have a proactive mindset to deliver and relish a challenge to operate to tight deadlines


In addition, you will become familiar with the other departments within
PSPS & the client Councils, including corporate services, finance, property services & assets.
