    The Opportunity

Are you looking for a career where you can really make a difference? Come and join us as a Wind Turbine Technician in our Asset Operations Business Area.

Our portfolio of nearly 1,000 MW consists of 36 wind farms - including two offshore wind farms - and one of the largest operational battery storage units in Europe. We're also is seeking to deliver further growth from its own development pipeline or though securing new acquisitions of projects and has more than 2GW consented, in planning and development.

As a Wind Technician in the Fenlands team based in our Fenlands Technical Service Centre (PE7 2EU) every day is different and provides a real opportunity to make a difference in our ambition to help the UK achieve Net Zero.

    Location; Fenlands, Peterborough

    What you'll be doing.

As a part of the Wind Turbine Technician Team, your typical day will start at 8AM to check the status of turbines within the area. Any faults or issues will be reported by our 24/7/365 monitoring centre based in France. The turbine issue reported will be accessed by yourself or one of the team with the correct spares, tooling and documentation gathered. Followed by setting to work and a Toolbox Talk for the working party.

After setting ourselves up for success with our toolbox talk, you will head out to complete any fault rectification work or planned work such as Service, Statutory compliance, HV Maintenance support, blade inspections and at times more serious work packages such as gearbox or generator replacements as and when required.

No 2 days are the same working on wind turbines and the role keeps our technicians on their toes.

If you like a challenge, trouble shooting in a fast, evolving industry with Zero Harm as the core ambition then this could be the ideal job for you.

Your role will be to schedule and reactive maintenance accordance with manufacturer's guideline in addition to:

    • Report and plan daily maintenance activity.
    • Coordinate local spare part and consumable stock.
    • Fault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies and major components.
    • Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime.
    • Supervise specialist and subcontractor activity during main component exchange.
    • Provide safety induction to contractors and visitors.
    • Provide out of hours and weekend response to turbine breakdown (1 week in 4)
    • Ensure the highest level of turbine availability.

Closing date for applications: 1st May 2024
