    We are looking for innovative Critical Care nurses to join our Critical Care Practice Development & Education Team for one permanent and two fixed term 12 month secondments.


    As a Practice Development Sister/Charge Nurse you must be able to demonstrate a commitment to developing the service and staff, improving the patient experience and show evidence of clinical leadership.

    You will work across all Critical Care Units to facilitate education, training, research and professional development for all staff through formal and informal teaching.

    You must have a relevant recognised post registration Critical Care qualification: 60 credit Critical Care Course with completion of Step 2 and 3 competencies - or equivalent.

    Facilitate learning within the clinical team and provide professional training and development of staff through formal and informal teaching across Critical Care.

    Evidence of continued development.

    Relevant Band 5 Critical Care experience

    Experience in a variety of acute care areas.
    Previous practice development experience.
    Project management experience.
    Awareness of budgetry constraints related to education in Critical Care.
    Knowledge and experience of research in the Critical care environment.

    Computer literacy - confident use of excel, word and powerpoint.
    Ability to mentor staff on Critical Care courses.
    Assertive/perceptive counselling skills.
    Able to ensure effective networking both within the Trust and Academic Institutions.
    Committed to own and others professional development.
    Evidence of achievement in extended roles within Critical Care.
    Evidence of working in a senior Band 5 role.
