Position Summary


Develops and administers the overall accounting function for the location, including: budgeting, planning, internal control oversight, financial reporting both internal and external, financial performance measurement, financial system implementation and technical accounting support and guidance.

Assists the Business Unit and Division management team in decision making and performance management.


Responsibilities
Main Duties

  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial data including income statement and balance sheet.
  • Conducts meaningful variance analysis of financial results against forecast, plan and prior periods and recommends actions to be taken.
  • Forecasting: Uses internal and external data to extract trends and forecast the upcoming changes to the business thus enabling the production of the 12 month rolling forecast. (Sales, Margin, DNE, Balance Sheet, Win Scorecard and other statistical inputs).
  • Oversees the month end close process for Barnstaple location.
  • Projects & Initiatives: Active leader or participant on location, division, crossfunction, crossdivision, or crossregion projects providing financial support.
  • Attends New Product Introduction and Stage Gate reviews meetings and provides financial support.
  • Prepares the annual statutory tax packs for the location and assisting with any queries from both internal and external auditors.
Key Accountabilities

  • Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting for the location to ensure accurate forecasts are set.
  • Ensure that the location is Sarbanes Oxley compliant.
  • Compliance to statutory requirements.
  • Ensure timely, accurate reporting of results, financial statements, forecasts, midyear reviews, budgeting, all cost and management accounting data.
  • Ensure assets are safe guarded, and all systems are adequate enough to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide liaison and coordination between Location and Division to ensure consistency in accounting and forecasting.
  • Ensure implementation of and compliance with all established Parker policies and procedures.
  • Actively support all strategy initiatives.
  • Assist on special projects and strategic initiatives lean enterprise/lean accounting.
  • Provide finance related support to other departments.
  • Actively be a part of and support the Location Management teams to improve the financial performance of the Location and the Division.
  • To manage, review and develop the financial team in Barnstaple.

Qualifications
Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (ACMA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Good working knowledge of JDE Financials, JDE Manufacturing and SAP
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing location
  • Knowledge and understanding of Sarbanes Oxley
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
  • Detailed and accurate
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise
  • Results driven with ability to influence and drive change
