We're on the lookout for a Credit Risk Manager - Group Insight who'll be responsible for the provision of appropriate, accurate, and timely, insight, and opinion on the Group's credit portfolio for use across a range of internal and external stakeholders.


Reporting to the Senior Credit Risk Manager - Group Insight, you'll use your passion for data and MI to support the ongoing development and delivery of Credit Risk reporting and MI for the Risk Management Leadership Team and the wider business as required.

You and the team will work closely with the broader Credit Risk team and key stakeholders across the wider business.

The role in a nutshell:


  • Development and delivery of the Credit Risk insight, and opinion in support of the Chief Credit Officer and the Credit Leadership Team.
  • Manage the delivery of credit portfolio insight to ensure that existing and future trends are clearly highlighted with associated risks and recommended actions. including internal committee & Board deliverables, regulatory updates, reporting to internalstakeholders (Commercial, Risk, Finance & Treasury, IR, CX) and external stakeholders
  • Working with the portfolio teams, develop the capability to enhance credit risk insight across the credit portfolios.
  • Manage and implement effective systems and controls to identify, measure and monitor all credit portfolio related business and regulatory risks
  • Provide credit risk insight versus competitors and in response to regulatory change pronouncements, external developments in the industry and horizon scanning
  • Develop appropriate and insightful analysis which will help influence decisions upon future strategies.
  • Develop delivery of a quality control capability to ensure all analysis and insight is completed to the highest standard.

This includes working with 1LOD sources of data and reporting, risk analytics and the credit portfolio teams to ensure the availabilityand completeness of the inputs required to support credit risk insight.


  • Manage and develop portfolio level Credit RAS metrics aligned to Credit and Bank strategy to ensure safe development of the Credit portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate standards, policies, processes, and procedures and with all external legal, regulatory, and voluntary codes and practices.
  • Support the Senior manager in keeping abreast of all external developments and asses the Bank's position relative to these through advice and insight to the Credit Leadership Team, the wider Risk Leadership team, other internal stakeholders, and GovernanceForums as appropriate.
**There are a few essentials you need to bring
- *
  • Experience in Financial Services or banking with practical experience of credit performance reporting.
  • Expert credit risk knowledge is essential.
  • Experience of delivering complex insight and opinion to challenging timescales with agreed resources
  • Ability to turn complex and diverse results into readily understandable insight, highlighting key aspects of operational/ strategic performance
  • Experience of delivering to, and working with, senior management.
  • Aptitude for coaching and developing team members to ensure delivery to a consistently high standard


  • Computer literate

  • PowerPoint / Excel / Office / Teams

We'd love you to have (but not essential)...

  • Experience using SAS
  • Strong understanding of the operations of Credit Risk and the wider business
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Group's Credit risk policies and methodologies
  • Understanding of IRB and IFRS
  • Proven ability to build strong networks and relationships with internal and external parties
  • Strong people management skills
