    Location: On the road (Field-based role)

    Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer responsible for maintenance, fault-finding, commissioning, and emergency call-outs related to Automatic Fire, Fire Extinguishing-Gas Suppression, Fire Aspiration Alarm Systems, and Security Systems. The ideal candidate will exhibit a positive and supportive attitude, with a strong team player mindset, willing to go the extra mile to assist colleagues.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform system maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning across various system types.
    • Attend emergency callouts and execute reactive & minor or extra works efficiently.
    • Complete electronic worksheets daily, submit timesheets weekly, and manage weekly mileage/expense claims.
    • Comply with all company policies relating to Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Technical Compliance.
    • Provide support to colleagues with technical issues either through telephone or site visits.
    • Maintain high standards in engineering practices, and report any inconsistencies.
    • Manage client expectations by maintaining communication regarding project timelines and changes.
    • Update site logbooks with details of all work carried out.
    • Mentor and assist in the development of trainees.
    • Maintain company issued equipment and report any issues.
    • Develop and maintain effective client relationships and assist in securing future work.

    Requirements:

    • 2 - 5 years of experience in the fire and security industry.
    • Proven ability to install, test, commission, and service Fire Alarm Systems and/or Security Systems.
    • Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with software programming on main line products.
    • Effective communication skills, capable of managing relationships with clients and colleagues.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Valid Driving Licence (preferred).

    • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

    Experience:

    • Engineering: 5+ years (preferred)
