This is a requirement for a Contract Cloud Engineer to work remotely for NATO.
Required Start Date: 30 January 2023
Please note - current NATO SECRET Security Clearance is required (or UK SC or equivalent)

SCOPE OF WORK
Under the direction / guidance of the NCIA Point of Contact or delegated staff, the cloud engineer will support the NSF team in managing the NSF platform resources and interact with NSF users to implement changes, provide guidance and fix issues


This includesthe following activities:

  • Deploy/manage the following resources in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment:
  • Azure Active Directory
  • Azure Active Directory
Domain Services

  • Virtual machines
  • Azure Kubernetes service
  • Azure DevTest Labs
  • Azure Update Management
  • Azure Networking
  • Azure Monitoring
  • Azure Storage
  • Application gateways
  • App services
  • Azure databases
  • Azure logging
  • Azure policies
  • Azure security
  • Azure loadbalancers
  • Azure automation accounts
  • Azure virtual network gateways
  • Manage Microsoft Azure Devops


  • Manage Microsoft M36

  • Manage Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Manage Active Directory
  • Automate workloads by using Azure PowerShell, Azure CLI, Azure ARM

The contractor will be part of a team and will provide the service using an Agile and iterative approach during multiple sprints.

Each sprint is planned for a duration of 1 week. The content and scope of each sprint will be agreed during the sprint-planningmeeting.

SCHEDULE
It is expected the initial service starts on 30th January 2023 and will end no later than 31st December 2023

SECURITY CLEARANCE
The duties of the Contractor requires a valid NATO SECRET security clearance.

PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS
The contractor will be required to provide the service off site.

Access to the NCIA Agency NSF platform will be provided in coordination with the NCIA Point of Contact or delegated staff.

The contractor may be required to travel to NCI Agency, Brussels, Belgium and other sites within NATO for completing these tasks.

Travel expenses will be reimbursed to the individual directly (outside this contract) under NATO rules.
This service must be accomplished by ONE contractor.

QUALIFICATIONS
The consultancy support for this service requires a cloud engineer with the following qualifications:

  • Azure authentication and access control,
  • Azure networking,
  • Azure VMs,
  • Containers and orchestration,
  • Infrastructure as code such as ARM,
  • Azure security
