We are currently looking for highly motivated individuals with relevant clinical experience to join our team at the Paediatric Sleep & Respiratory Physiologist Team.


  • Provide overview of both the respiratory physiology and sleep service at the NWL Children's Hospital, including input into waiting lists and capacity planning. This would include an overview of the outpatient sleep service.
  • Support the leadership for the Paediatric Healthcare Nursing Assistants when setting up of complex sleep studies, to be responsible for up to 2 patients within the inpatient facility at St Mary's Hospital who are admitted overnight for sleep studies, as well as existing inpatients who may also require a sleep study.
  • Pre admission telephone contact, meet and greet patients and their parent/carer.
  • Explanation of the procedure and obtaining consent for research study where appropriate. Oversee setup of sleep studies with support from the Paediatric Healthcare Assistants and technicians.
  • Assessment by sleep study of patients who are dependent on oxygen, noninvasive ventilation or invasive (tracheostomy) ventilation.
  • Be responsible for interpreting and reporting inpatient sleep studies in a timely fashion, as required and directed by the referring paediatric respiratory consultant.
  • Communicate routine information to patients.
  • Interact closely with medical, scientific and other nursing staff to provide a high quality paediatric Sleep Service dedicated to patient care.
