Based:
Hybrid; at least two days per week at one or other of the company offices, currently Grantham (Lincolnshire) and Watton (Norfolk)
Reports to:
Managing Director, Electrical Division with a dotted line to Group CFO
Contract type:
Permanent (or Temp to Perm)
Finance Business Partner:
The Finance Business Partner will be a trusted advisor and challenger to improve the financial performance, reporting and control in this growing business.
Initially the role will require some hands-on management of a small accounting team, but over time it is anticipated that the focus will be more on forecasting and partnering the Managing Director.
Finance Business Partner core responsibilities:
- Providing proactive and incisive business support to the MD of the division, supporting decisionmaking around pricing, customer targeting, cost control and working capital management
- Preparation of management accounts, completion of group monthly report pack including variance analysis, KPIs and commentary to deadlines
- Management of small team to achieve and deliver desired results and improve outcomes.
- Ensuring correct accounting in monthly and annual financial statements, including readiness for audit and dealing with audit queries
- Handson working capital and cash management including managing cashflow projections and management of payments
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Production of prompt, accurate and insightful management accounts in an SME environment
- Strong Excel skills to include budget preparation and data manipulation incl. pivots, lookups
- Right to work in the UK with a valid driving licence, and willing to travel regularly within the UK
- Good communicator, comfortable with, and leading change, team player and comfortable working in a matrix environment. Proactive, agile, multitasker with a sense of urgency
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Qualified accountant
- Experience in PEbacked and/or peoplebased service companies
- Specific experience providing Finance support to commercial and/or operational management.
- Working knowledge of Sage Intacct (preferable) &/or another similar modern cloudbased accounting system
- Experience working through periods of significant business change, e.g implementation of financial and operating systems, integration of acquisitions.

Compliance Group Limited (CGL) is a leading integrated provider of safety and regulatory compliance services across electrical, fire and water operating across the UK.
The Electrical Division provides fixed wire and portable testing services and currently operates from two sites in the East of England, but further growth both organically and through acquisition is anticipated.
