    Job Description:

    We are seeking a Simulation & Modelling Architect in a challenging, dynamic, and high paced environment where a strong Systems Engineering and Project Management skills are key to success.

    You will be joining a small team that is part of a larger division, who develop functional simulators of the spacecraft for a range of different projects. We have a number of new and interesting projects on the horizon, ranging from earth observation monitoring the effects of climate to deep space missions looking for exo-planets.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check)

    TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional travel within UK and Europe

    HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

    • Management of the overall simulator development activities, schedule, quality, cost, risks and baseline changes
    • Perform the simulator procurement planning; supervise the development and procurement of the different elements of the test benches
    • Analyse the system requirements, and derive requirements / specifications
    • Ensure that the solution is consistent with the external interface requirements and constraints.
    • Act as a focal point for any system level engineering and support
    • Manage the interfaces to other engineering teams.
    • Support the simulator development team in specific design solutions and implementations
    • Support the simulator development team during the verification, delivery and acceptance phases of the test benches

    ABOUT YOU

    • Experience in software project lifecycles from requirements, design, development, integration, testing and customer delivery and acceptance
    • Able to express design ideas in a formal modelling language (e.g. UML2.0)
    • Excellent communication and meeting skills
    • Proactive with honest engagement with customers or other stakeholders
    • Self-motivated, autonomous and effective
    • Knowledge of one or more of the following data buses: SpaceWire, MilSTD 1553, CAN bus is desirable
