    Job Description

  • To assist in the day to day maintenance on the cranes as defined by the Terminal Supervisor/Manager
  • To assist with preventative maintenance on the cranes as defined by the Terminal Supervisor/Manager
  • To assist in diagnosing and inspecting any defects found on the cranes as reported by the Crane Pilots
  • To assist with maintenance on heavy plant equipment as required
  • To document any works completed, ensuring these are passed to the Supervisor for filing
  • To place written requests for any parts required with the Supervisor
  • To ensure all work equipment (including safety equipment), is maintained to a satisfactory working condition and stored correctly, reporting any defects to Supervisors
  • To ensure all lubricants, fluids and gasses are stored in the correct manner, following relevant regulations as instructed by the Health and Safety Team
  • To ensure working areas are kept clean and tidy, using bins provided
  • To continue with college work and communicate progress and also be available for any further development training as set by the Terminal Supervisor/Manager
  • To ensure compound gates are locked at all time when access isn't required
  • To assist with any future plans for further crane developments
  • To mentor trainees as required
  • To adhere to the shift rota, on-call rota and absence cover as required
  • To undertake any other duties as required by the Terminal Supervisor/Manager
  • Qualifications

    Core

  • C&G 2330 Electrical Installation
  • IEE 19th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Equivalent of 5 GCSEs at C Grade or above
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
  • Desirable

  • Nationally recognised Health & Safety Accreditation
