    Keepmoat is a fast-growing top 10 UK housebuilder. We design and build quality homes, creating places where people want to live.

    We also build great careers here at Keepmoat and we recognise that when our people grow, we do too. That is why we offer our employees competitive salaries and a fantastic benefits package including company car or car allowance, agile working, 25 days holiday plus all bank holidays (with the option to buy up to 5 additional days with our smart holidays scheme), employee private healthcare, exclusive offers and discounts and volunteer days.

    We have some rare and exciting opportunities for a number of lawyers to join our in-house Legal team.

    Owing to the nature of our business and the likely future growth of the legal and compliance function, the roles would suit lawyers with a background in commercial or construction litigation, regulatory compliance matters or mainstream corporate and commercial work.

    The variety available to you is huge if you are a lawyer looking to broaden your skills and develop your career in-house by joining a dynamic, forward thinking partnership housebuilder. The business culture is friendly and relaxed, and you will have lots of interaction across the legal and compliance team and the wider business.

    Reporting into the General Counsel, the successful candidates will be joining a supportive and collaborative Legal and Compliance team which handles a range of matters, across different jurisdictions (including Scotland), encompassing various practice areas.

    For example:

    • Advising, drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of construction and commercial agreements.
    • Ensuring efficient and effective handling of disputes and providing advice to operational teams on appropriate strategies through formal and informal dispute resolution processes (including mediation, adjudication, expert determination, court proceedings and arbitration).
    • Assisting on corporate transactions including M&A and disposals affecting the business.
    • Performing company secretarial activities for the Group Companies (including attending to applicable filings with Companies House and maintaining the statutory books of the Group Companies).
    • Involvement in identifying, developing and delivering toolkits and legal awareness training on various issues to educate colleagues across the business on the legal process such as how to use precedent documentation, how to avoid legal pitfalls.
    • Assisting in developing a set of legal precedents for use across the business.
    • Advising on relevant aspects of applicable laws, including regulatory, contract and construction law, and ensuring Keepmoat Group complies with relevant legislation and regulations affecting its business.

    Potentially suitable candidates will:

    • have a minimum of 2 years Post Qualified Experience which ideally started by working within a top tier law firm in either commercial litigation, civil/insurance claims, construction law, regulatory advice or corporate and commercial matters;
    • either be currently working in a law firm or another in-house legal team from any sector (in-house experience is not essential); need to be UK qualified and have right to work in the UK.

    Ideal candidates will identify with our core values here at Keepmoat. They will be passionate about commercial law - a self-starter who is motivated and engaged, ready to learn and push the boundaries. They will be collaborative, with the ability to build relationships at all levels internally and externally. Additionally, they will have a straightforward, solutions-oriented approach and be fully aware of and actively complying with Keepmoat's policies and procedures. The ability to be creative and an interest in automation and the combination of technology and law would be an asset.

    For a confidential discussion about this role please get in touch with Keepmoat's exclusively retained consultant, Andy Balmer, at Florit Legal.
