    Exciting Opportunity for a PSHE Teacher in Levenshulme

    Are you passionate about promoting the personal, social, and health development of students? Teaching Personnel is thrilled to present a full-time position for a PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic) Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Levenshulme. This role is available to start in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

    Role Overview:

    As a PSHE Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering a comprehensive PSHE curriculum that equips students with essential life skills, promotes well-being, and prepares them for the challenges of adulthood. You will cover a wide range of topics, including mental health, relationships, sex education, substance abuse prevention, and financial literacy, fostering students' personal development and resilience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging PSHE lessons that cover a variety of topics relevant to students' personal, social, and health needs, ensuring that content is age-appropriate, inclusive, and culturally sensitive.
    • Health Education: Provide students with accurate and up-to-date information about physical and mental health, healthy lifestyle choices, and strategies for maintaining well-being and resilience.
    • Relationships and Sex Education (RSE): Deliver comprehensive RSE lessons that cover topics such as consent, healthy relationships, puberty, contraception, and sexual health, empowering students to make informed decisions and develop positive attitudes towards sexuality.
    • Substance Abuse Prevention: Educate students about the risks associated with substance abuse, including drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, and equip them with refusal skills and strategies for resisting peer pressure.
    • Financial Literacy: Teach students essential financial literacy skills, such as budgeting, saving, banking, and understanding financial products and services, to promote financial independence and responsibility.
    • Emotional and Social Skills: Support students in developing emotional intelligence, empathy, communication skills, and conflict resolution strategies, fostering positive relationships and resilience.
    • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments, such as quizzes, projects, and reflective activities, and provide constructive feedback to support their personal development.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, external agencies, and community partners to enhance the PSHE curriculum and provide additional support and resources for students' well-being.

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in PSHE education or related field.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of PSHE topics, including mental health, relationships, sex education, substance abuse prevention, and financial literacy.
    • Previous experience teaching PSHE or related subjects at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.
    • Empathy, sensitivity, and excellent communication skills to address sensitive topics and support students' emotional well-being.
    • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in PSHE education.
