    In-House Legal Counsel

    Location: Hybrid –Remote working/London Office

    Hours: Part-time (25 hours per week over Monday to Friday)

    Salary: £72,500 pro rata (£100,000 full time equivalent)

    As an In-House Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our company's interests by providing legal expertise and guidance. Your primary focus will be to gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of our extensive "framework agreement" and effectively handle client pushback and contract negotiations. This is a senior position, and you'll have the opportunity to work remotely for the majority of your working days.

    The Role

    • Thoroughly understand our company's framework agreement, including its nuances, provisions, and implications.
    • Provide legal advice to internal teams regarding the framework agreement's interpretation and application.
    • Handle client pushback and markup related to the framework agreement.
    • Collaborate with clients, addressing their concerns while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including IT contracts and software agreements to ensure the company's full legal rights.
    • Communicate and negotiate with external parties as required.
    • Ensure the company adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Give accurate and timely counsel to internal teams on a variety of legal topics.
    • Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to internal teams.
    • Mitigate legal risks associated with client contracts and business operations.
    • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
    • Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility.
    • Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.

    Your Knowledge & Experience

    • Minimum 5 years PQE
    • Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in a business environment
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of contract law, intellectual property, and technology-related legal matters.
    • Established expertise advising on SaaS (software-as-a-service) contracts
    • Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a business.
    • Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.
    • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
    • Sound judgment and ability to analyse situations and information.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification (preferred).
