Description

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary site team, ensuring all mechanical maintenance routines, defects, repairs and projects are completed safely and efficiently, meeting SHEQ and contractual targets.

Provide Mechanical technical support for day to day and longer term engineering and maintenance activities at Beckton.

Including all assigned tasks within own competence to required SHEQ and business standards & times investigating, troubleshooting, plannedrepair scopes, preventative and predictive maintenance, equipment installation and projects.


Perform programmed maintenance work, defect rectification, emergent and project work relating to rotating and stationary equipment, providing timely feedback and updating the Shift Log and the Site CMMS (Agility).

Produce and improve maintenance procedures, work plans, project scoping documents and contractor work scopes.

Specify and order assigned spares/replacement equipment in line with site quality procedures.

Supervise contractor personnel ensuring work is technically correct and meets site SHEQ procedures.


Work alongside other CHiP Engineering and Maintenance/ Operations Team members, reviewing method statements, risk assessments and other required safety documentation for fitness for purpose.


Co-ordinate and monitor assigned maintenance contracts, balancing key business safety and commercial goals and through effective auditing, ensuring quality and safety standards.


Understand the requirements of current standards and key legislation, including PSSR, DSEAR, HASAWA, LOLER, and work to ensure full compliance.

Update work order records and reports through site CMMS.

Maintain safety standards and working procedures at all times, following all site safety rules. Develop and maintain understanding of why and how the rules are applied.

Assist the operations team with out of hours call out technical support.

Portray the role of Mechanical Technician in a positive and professional manner.
