    In-House Lawyer – Transport Company – 6-9 month Assignment

    Our client is a leading transport company. They are looking for a corporate commercial Lawyer to join their in-house legal team for a 6-9 month period. Whilst the assignment is for an initial duration of 6-9 months, there is a chance of further extension or permanency.

    Successful individuals will be expected to spend 3-4 days per week in their London office, with the remainder working from home. The assignment is to start ASAP.

    The successful individual will be joining a close knit, friendly and collegiate legal team and can expect to be involved in a range of corporate and commercial matters.

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Providing accurate and concise legal advice to Procurement and IT teams
    • Drafting commercial contracts across all areas of the business (including IT and general procurement), with a particular emphasis on IT contracts
    • Advising and negotiating supplier's standard terms, particularly SaaS terms, software maintenance and support agreements, payment services and IT hardware purchase and maintenance contracts
    • Attending and supporting Procurement in negotiations with suppliers
    • Providing legal advice to the business regarding required contractual terms and compliance with UK GDPR
    • Supporting on corporate M&A matters, including drafting and negotiating legal terms
    • Undertaking M&A due diligence reviews

    It is likely that successful individuals will be able to demonstrate:

    • Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales, or another commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia and/or New Zealand, for example)
    • Upwards of 4 years' experience in handling a broad range of corporate and commercial matters (specifically those mentioned above)
    • A strong Private Practice background, with experience working within a fast-paced In-House Legal Team
    • The ability to work to tight deadlines and timeframes
    • The ability to prioritise a busy caseload
    • A willingness to work as part of a cohesive legal team

    Due to the urgency of the requirement, Lawyers should be available at short notice or immediately.
