About The Role:


We're searching for a SHEQ Manager who will play a key role in forging strong working relationships with Management and Supervisory teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety requirements.

To help lead all elements of Health and Safety management, as defined by the Board of Directors to ensure the successful delivery of our Health and Safety Improvement Plan, Annual Objectives & Targets and requirements.

Whilst the role is remote, you will need to travel to engage with the field-based teams.

Responsible within the region for embedding our 'Zero Harm' culture, implementing a robust auditing / compliance strategy and the adoption of the wider Group SHEQ strategy.

Must be open to travelling. Car included.

You will have 1 direct report.


What you'll be doing:


  • Support the Business Unit to achieve best practice in all aspects of Health, Safety & Compliance management as defined by the Board of Directors
  • Assist the Senior SHEQ Manager in providing accurate, timely information and statistics on performance periodically, weekly, monthly and on request to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and participation of external Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Business Continuity and Information Security audits plus the coordination of the implementation of the corrective/improvement actions following the issue of the audit report as requested by Services Safety, Health & Compliance teams.
  • Manage all accidents/incidents through internal system
  • Company is compliant with any reporting to all legislative bodies
  • Continuous improvement in company accident/incident reduction plan
  • Escalate and cascade matters of concern through the appropriate channels to ensure that issues are dealt with and that future risk is controlled.
  • Coordinate the internal audit programme through liaison with all departments to ensure that adequate, trained resource is in place to carry out sufficient internal audits as required by the Company's external audit providers and Morrison Data Services internal requirements.
  • Complete Onsite inspections across the business, construction sites and across supply chain as appropriate.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • NEBOSH Certificate
  • CDM knowledge and experience
  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence essential.
  • Proven experience managing a team
  • High level of IT literacy
  • Flexibility to travel to sites
  • Strong communication skills and the possession of welldeveloped skills in stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong grasp of recognised best practice, risk management techniques and management principles, supported by a thorough appreciation of health and safety within a regulated industry sector.
  • Proven, demonstrable experience in a similar Health and Safety/Health Safety & Environmental role.
