    Senior Electrical Design Engineer - EV - Northern Ireland - £40k to £60k

    One of my key clients working in the EV / Batteries / Mobility Sector is recruiting for a skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their Electrical and Electronics team based in Northern Ireland.

    They are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of advanced electrical systems for our electric propulsion projects, contributing their expertise to the design, implementation, and testing phases.

    As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver state-of-the-art solutions that push the boundaries of marine technology.

    £40k to £60k (Negotiable Depending on Experience)
    Hybrid WFH - Mainly on Site


    Electrical System Design:

    Lead the design and development of electrical systems for marine propulsion applications, including power distribution, motor control, and energy storage systems.


    Component Selection:

    Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to select appropriate electrical components and subsystems, considering factors such as performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

    Coordinate the integration of electrical systems with mechanical and software components, ensuring seamless functionality and compatibility throughout the development process.


    Testing and Validation:

    Plan and conduct comprehensive testing and validation procedures to verify the performance and reliability of electrical systems under various operating conditions.

    Identify and resolve electrical issues through systematic troubleshooting and debugging techniques, providing technical support as needed to resolve issues during development and deployment phases.

    Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and test reports, to communicate design requirements and findings effectively to internal teams and external partners.


    Continuous Improvement:

    Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in electrical engineering, actively seeking opportunities to enhance design methodologies, tools, and processes to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

    Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Proven experience (3 years) in the design and development of electrical systems, preferably in the marine or automotive industry.

    Strong proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools (e.g., Extensive knowledge of power electronics, motor control, and energy storage systems.
    Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and validation techniques.
    Familiarity with regulatory standards and certification requirements for marine electrical systems is desirable.
