Are you a Senior Electrical Engineer looking for your next step up the career ladder?

Our client is a large engineering design consultancy, and they are currently searching for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join their team.

You will be overseeing several projects in our clients portfolio, mostly in the Defence Sector.

This role is based in Reading, but there will be a need for periodic visits to Stockton-on-Tees office as and when the project requires.

This role has been deemed inside IR35 and Hybrid.

Familiar in working in multi-discipline teams evidencing ability to coordinate activities with other disciplines and engineering departments.
Engineering Leadership skills;
Coordinate and check work completed by senior and junior engineers.
Ability to manage and progress work independently requiring limited intervention from the engineering management team.
Strong communicator with the ability to efficiently develop documentation using appropriate technical language to describe processes, ideas, and designs.
In depth knowledge of British Standards and regulations applicable to electrical system design.
Specification of GI/GNI distribution systems including validating Vendor designs against requirements at Vendor design and FAT stages.
Input to mechanical / process / machine specifications from a electrical perspective.

Production of electrical engineering deliverables including, calculations including:
Cable sizing calculations
Electrical equipment data sheets and reports
Guide designers in the production of electrical drawings including: Proficient in power modelling software (Trimble, SKM Powertools).
Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements from other disciplines required for the production of electrical deliverables.
Have a good understanding of Human Factors role in engineering design.
Experience with production of, or input to 3D engineering models.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation or Control Engineering
15+ years' experience working in engineering design in the Nuclear, Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Mechanical Handling or Water Industries.
