    Description

    Purpose of Post:

    To develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) across the Company through existing and new procedures, and to regulate, control and improve the quality of manufacturing designs, processes and the final product.

    Key Tasks:

    Key Tasks:

    ·Implement and maintain all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS)

    ·Communicate with personnel on all levels of the business, internally and externally to the company, in relation to quality matters

    ·Ensure that all in house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies

    ·Respond to customer complaints, putting in place containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures

    ·Respond to warranty issues / field service issues, putting in place containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures

    ·Update quality documentation to carry forward lessons learnt from quality concerns into new customer contracts.

    ·Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.

    ·Ensure that all tools are calibrated to an agreed schedule

    ·Supervision of QC and QA and personnel

    ·Reduction of costs caused by poor supplier quality

    ·Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.

    ·Act as a change agent in respect of spreading the quality message across the company to alter attitudes, behaviour and work practices.

    ·Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures.

    ·Undertake internal audits of the QMS to an agreed schedule.

    ·Approval of new suppliers via appropriate methods such as supplier audits

    ·Ensure that records are maintained for the designated time

    ·Analysing data and identify trends relating to non-conformances

    ·Report against agreed quality metrics monthly.

    ·Setting / Managing the departmental budget

    Essential Criteria:

    Educational Attainments: HNC Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering

    Job Experience:Previous Quality Management System experience in the manufacturing industry

    Technical Skills:Ability to implement and maintain procedures within a QMS, Ability to liaise with 3rd Party Certification bodies, Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective and containment actions, Ability to conduct audits to an agreed schedule, Ability to analyse facts, data and trends, Working knowledge of quality procedures and practices,Ability to update quality documentation to carry forward lessons learned,Working knowledge of continuous improvement, Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ISO9001 Lead Auditor Training

    Leadership Skills: Ability to work as a member of a team and on your own initiative, Strong communication & problem-solving skills, Ability to meet tight deadlines, Ability to meet targets & work in a professional manner.

    Circumstances: Flexible and adaptable, Willing to take on business travel.

    Desirable Criteria:

    Experience: Experience in the bus building industry

    Technical Proficiency: ISO14001 Lead Auditor Training
