Cyber Security Engineer

Hybrid working (multiple locations across the UK available including North UK, London, West Midlands, Oxfordshire)


A leading IT service provider is seeking an ambitious and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The client provides a wide range of technical services to hundreds of customers across the UK, with a specialism in cloudand security services.

They are an exceptionally well-established business and have made numerous acquisitions over the years with plans to continually grow, specially within their security practise.


The security function currently offers a wide range of services including security advisory/consultancy, MDR, managed end point protection, pen testing and much more.

You will be working within a small, but technically driven team, providing incident managementand remediation (on customers hosted infrastructure and the customers own infrastructure) working directly with customers and internal teams, providing regular cadence calls and advising on security.

Further responsibilities:

  • Administrate and implement policies/rules on SIEM sensors as well as refining security standards
  • Monitor identity and access management
  • Carry out security assessments for clients such as vulnerability assessments and Cyber Essentials assessments
  • Use advanced analytics tools to detect emerging vulnerabilities and threat patterns
  • Identify potential weaknesses and recommend security measures when required
  • Liase with internal/external IT teams in managing tools that include SIEM, UAT, WAF, malware prevention and real time metrics reporting.
  • Work with vendors on providing updates, bug fixes and managing relations

Requirements:


  • Experience with Azure AD or traditional AD services
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (VMWare/Hyper-V)
  • Excellent networking knowledge including network devices such as firewalls/switches, subnetting, DVS, VPNs, VLANsm VoIP.
