An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented administrator to join the Multiple Sclerosis team at Queen's Medical Centre as an MS MDT Coordinator to support the management of the MS Service.

We are looking to appoint a full-time Coordinator to cover 12 months Maternity leave. The post is 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday).


This role requires the individual to have strong administrative skills and understanding of the role to provide the necessary support to the senior MS Co-ordinator.

You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will need to be well motivated, reliable and flexible.

You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information and be able to remain calm under pressure.

The ability to manage your time, problem solve and prioritise your workload whilst remaining patient focused is essential.

Please note this is 12m fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave.

Main duties of the job

Preparing agendas, taking minutes and onward dissemination of information to referrers.

To work closely alongside clinical teams, helping to identify patients who are required for discussion at weekly MDT meetings.

The MDT Coordinator is responsible for collating the necessary information for each patient to be presented and discussed on the agenda.

This sometimes involves liaison with other Trusts e.g. Leicester Royal Infirmary.

To ensure that all required test results are available for the MDT meeting i.e. relevant patient notes, pathology and imaging pertinent to the patients to be discussed.


To produce a list of new patients to be discussed at the MDT (agenda) and distribute to all MDT members prior to the meeting.

Taking minutes at the MDT meeting and record outcomes of discussions for each patient.

Following the meeting, circulating a list of patients discussed with outcomes and next steps.

To be an active member of the MDT team, attending MDT meetings on a weekly basis (unless on leave).

To update the MS database as appropriate.

Provide cover for colleagues as necessary in times of absence (Senior MS Coordinator)

To regularly undertake surveys, audit, analysis or research to support service development and ensure data quality.

Assist the Senior MS Co-ordinator to ensure best care for MS patients, including patient blood monitoring.

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
