    Bank Decontamination Technician | Duchy Hospital | Bank Contract - Ad Hoc Hours

    We are now inviting applications for the post of Bank Decontamination Technician.

    We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals who have already worked within the field of Decontamination of re-usable medical devices for at least 2 years, or who have completed a recognised decontamination course (NVQ/TVQ/Technical Certificate).

    Key responsibilities include:

    Performing the full decontamination cycle on re-usable medical devices (surgical instruments) to the highest of standards, in line within all Ramsay policies and procedures.
    Participate fully in quality control processes ensuring procedures and documentation is completed accurately at all times

    What you'll bring with you

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Decontamination Technician within a health care setting
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
  • Good computer skills (MS Office package)
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Willingness to work the occasional night shift once competence is achieved

    Duchy, a private hospital also treating some NHS patients, has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services. The hospital opened in 1981 and has 30 inpatient spaces arranged as 24 single bedrooms all with en-suite facilities to ensure complete privacy. In addition there is 1 4-bedded room and 1 2-bedded room. There is also a 12 space Ambulatory Care Unit for day patients. Other facilities include Cardiac Cath. Lab, 3 laminar flow operating theatres, JAG accredited endoscopy/day surgery unit, Outpatient Departement and Pre-admission assessment clinic, Physiotherapy and Clinical Imaging service.

    The hospital offers a wide range of surgical procedures including orthopaedics, general, vascular, weight loss surgery, gynaecology, urology, ENT and Ophthalmology.
