    NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

    The shift pattern is Monday-Friday (34.5 hours).

    (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

    An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Charge Nurse post within cardiology at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

    The successful candidate will help drive ongoing improvement and provide high quality care to each patient requiring cardiology care, supporting the leadership of the Senior Charge Nurse.

    We are looking for an individual who has the ability to evidence leadership experience within a team. You will be expected to deputise for the Senior Charge Nurse in their absence and lead the nursing team and coordinate the ward. As a Deputy Charge Nurse you will provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient's needs, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care which are evidence based. A high degree of clinical expertise will be evident with the ability to work to high quality clinical standards. You are required to be flexible, forward thinking and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic environment. You should possess excellent communication skills and sound decision making skills with evidence of ongoing professional development.
