National Sameday is an established courier company, operating at 6 major airports across the UK, with our head office near Luton Airport.
As a result of significant business growth, we now have permanent vacancy for an experienced Operation Controller (4 days on and 4 days off shifts)We have an exciting opportunity to join our busy Operations department based in our Luton Office as an experienced Operations Controller. This role is a permanent position.

The role and responsibilities are:
- Working within a team coordinating and ensuring all customer requirements (Collections / Deliveries) are completed within agreed timescales.
- Daily coordination of drivers / work allocation in collaboration with National Sameday's other UK operation centres.
- Taking telephone bookings accurately and dealing with queries from our customers.
- Being proactive when monitoring delivery jobs to POD and completion clear communication to Customers and staff of any issues
- Detailed and concise handovers using our inhouse System
- Producing reports and monitoring KPIs, providing analysis when required
- Maintaining our service level agreements with key clients
- Strong Communications Skills, written and verbal.
- Proactive mindset with a cando attitude when monitoring customer jobs to ensure adequate resources, fleet or staff are available to meet customer needs
- To always keep a professional approach in a continuously busy environment.
What do you need to be successful?
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Confident and professional telephone manner as you will be dealing with customers and staff daily, at times under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
- Highly organised, effective and logical thinker with ability to multitask
- Punctual and excellent attendance
- Ability to work under your own initiative.
- Previous transport experience and good geographical knowledge
- Flexibility with shifts and able to work 4 days on and 4 days off

- Full Manual Driving Licence
