    Description

    With recent investment from venture capitalists, this is a fantastic opportunity to join when they are at the cusp of something very exciting with realistic growth plans.

    As the Financial Planning Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making processes by providing insightful financial analysis, forecasting and planning.

    You will also act as a key Business Partner with regular liaison at high level including the CEO, Finance Director and Project Managers.

    They offer a truly flexible and hybrid approach, where you will be based at their office in the Centre of York at least twice per week in a non-corporate and sociable environment.


    Financial Analysis:
    Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support business decisions, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario modelling. / Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. / Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to drive business performance.

    • Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management on variances and trends.
    • Financial Reporting: Prepare and distribute accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly/quarterly management reports, budget vs. actual analysis, and ad-hoc reports as needed. / Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in financial reporting. / Work with other members of the finance team to deliver financial reporting as necessary.
    • Business Partnering: Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making. / Work closely with business leaders to develop financial reporting and business cases for new initiatives or investments.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency. / Recommend and implement improvements to financial planning and analysis tools, systems, and methodologies.
    Qualified CIMA/ACMA/ACA/ACCA.

    (Non-qualified or Finalists may also be considered if you possess suitable experience and/or a relevant degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics).


    • Experience in financial analysis, preferably in a similarly complex organisation.
    • Project finance skills will prove hugely advantageous.
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial systems and Excel.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex financial information into clear and actionable insights.
    • Experience with financial planning software and reporting systems (preferably Power BI or Hyperion) will prove useful .
    A starting salary of between £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.

    • Annual Bonus.
    * 25 days annual leave (plus public holidays), increasing with length of service.
