What is the Role?


To ensure we maintain high quality billing standards and compliance excellence, it is essential that we have a dedicated and motivated billing team who are responsible for ensuring these standards are maintained.

To this end we have an exciting opportunity for a Billing Administrator working within our NI gas billing department.


In this role you will:

  • Ensure accurate and timely routine billing, and all associated processes for all domestic and commercial customers according to billing schedules and in line with all policies & procedures, SLA's, Codes of Practice and applicable licence requirements
  • Ensure all daily / weekly / monthly reports and processes are completed accurately and on time to prevent delays and ensure compliance
  • Collaborate regularly with the Meter Reading and Customer Services teams to coordinate billing schedules and ensure updates are provided on areas billed / bills issued, to help support call management
  • Act as the point of escalation for internal departments and customers to assist in dealing with more complex billing queries or complaints. You'll ensure escalated billing queries from other departments are responded to within agreed SLAs, including management of shared mailboxes
  • Support the Billing Team Lead and wider Billing team as needed with the execution of any nonroutine billing tasks not limited to but including: debt recovery file processing, electronic billing, web bills, data corrections, rebills, billing queries, customer account reconciliations and meter upsize

What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Experience working in either a billing or customer accounts environment, using CRM systems and handling large volumes of data
  • Strong IT skills, with particular focus on MS Excel
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and organisational skills, with good attention to detail
  • A flexible approach, with the ability to multitask, prioritise your workload and manage time well, to deliver accurate and reliable results within deadlines
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbally, to successfully build working relationships and work with colleagues and customers at all levels to deliver excellent customer service
