The company
Inside Construction have been appointed to recruit an Estimator/Senior Estimator for a regional main contractor who specialise in a diverse range of projects including (not limited to) damp proofing, preservation, heritage, frameworks, residential, industrial, commercial, education & healthcare.
With a strong order book and turnover secured they are adding an Estimator to their commercial team. They are a leading building contractor in the north and focus on quality contracts and repeat business with their strong client base.
The role
Reporting into the Directors the main purpose of the role is to analyse tender documents and take a measured approach to tendering. The company focus is on quality over quantity and the role will involve seeking out the best tenders to suit the business model. Tenders range from £250k - £5m and the Estimator will focus on the bigger opportunities but may also be asked to help with smaller enquiries.
Key Responsibilities
This opportunity would suit an experienced Estimator with a background in main contracting. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing tenders for construction projects up to 5m and be confident in producing take off's and BoQ's from construction drawings. We are looking for someone who is ambitious and who wants to grow and shape the estimating function of the business. Strong communication skills are essential for the role. You will have a good relationship with the supply chain and have existing relationships with subcontractors in the region. Our client looks for people who enjoy working in an office environment, but flexibility will be offered.
