The Search


Altus Partners have partnered with a leading Real Estate Investment Management firm that is looking to bring on an Audit Manager to join the portfolio valuations team.

The business is going through an exciting growth phase off the back of recent successand is looking to grow and develop the team in London.

This business is responsible for providing valuations, analytics and reporting of the European portfolio and this role will be working alongside the Head of the team and will be partnering with deals teamand senior execs in Europe and the US.

The business does have the capacity to sponsor in the UK.


The Role


The role is an extension of the asset management, portfolio management and finance teams to support the valuation processes across the real estate assets across Europe.

The role will work with and manage the external third parties to coordinate appraisalsor facilitate valuation reviews and will work directly with internal management and senior execs to continue to build out the best practices in the valuation and portfolio reporting team.

The role is a growth hire, and it is the business first hire withinportfolio valuations and reporting and will work closely with senior management to develop the internal processes and controls around valuations, models review (DCF models) and portfolio reporting for the European assets.


Responsibilities


The Portfolio Reporting Associate will act as a key liaison between a variety of internal and external stakeholders including, among others, asset managers, European and global finance teams, treasury and accounting functions, and auditors.


  • Working closely with asset management team to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the quarterly valuation data for the European funds
  • Review and validate valuation models and key assumptions and work with acquisition team to onboard new deals
  • As part of the valuation cycle, liaise with fund operations team to update key assumptions including cash, external debt, and line of credit
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of quarterly valuation information and maintain and update European Valuation summary dashboard
  • Liaises with third party appraisal firms and advisors to engage and facilitate external valuations and model reviews.
  • Work in a team to coordinate the European audit process, liaising with local, group and global auditors to ensure that information is provided on a timely basis and that deadlines are met
  • Implementation of standardization of valuation and reporting approaches for specific asset and geographies
  • Support with the definition and implementation of valuation and reporting best practices
  • Other responsibilities will include adhoc project work and implementation of reporting efficiencies and support to technology initiatives

Qualifications:


  • Qualified Accountant with an audit background is preferred
  • 5 Years+ in an audit background in Real Estate, Private Equity or Asset Management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Ability to multitask across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Passion for making business processes more efficient and successful.
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Superior analytical and financial skills, including strong knowledge of finance and accounting and exceptional Excel and PowerPoint expertise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in team environments and develop/maintain internal and external relationships is critical
  • Ability to create and maintain large databases
  • Demonstrates confidence and capability in communicating in a variety of forums, including formal presentations, training sessions, etc
