  • R&D Engineer Are you someone who is passionate about Process and Quality Improvements and offering world class manufacturing customer service. At Saint Gobain Abrasives we are looking for an R&D Engineer to work with our team in Staverton , Gloucestershire. Your role will support our business strategy by developing our performance and process capability in our electroplating area, laboratory, and site function. You will lead key R&D improvement projects, in collaboration with our sales and applications teams, supporting the development of diamond roller dressers currently manufactured in our 3 European plants. Ensuring process efficiencies are maintained and continually improved whilst complying with all relevant standards and in line with ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 requirement. The R&D Engineer will be a key addition to our team. Whilst the role is mainly based at our site in Gloucestershire, you will also work as part of the European R&D team and you will have the opportunity to travel to our other manufacturing plants within Europe., This is a great time to join the business. We have seen significant investment in the plant with increased recruitment and new machinery and technologies. What we are looking for: Proven knowledge and experience of process and / or performance improvement, within a manufacturing environment ideally with a strong knowledge in Chemistry / Electrochemistry and more specifically Nickel deposit / Electroplating.Familiar with root cause analysis and other problem-solving techniquesCommercial awareness, with an understanding of basic cost structures and marginsProject leadership skills, cross department functioning skills with experience of managing others in project teams, including external contractors / suppliersThe flexibility to travel as your role will have frequent visit to our European plants
