Senior Advanced Hardware Engineer - Leicester, United Kingdom - Honeywell
Description
Honeywell Building Technologies (HBT) Fire group is looking for experienced Hardware design engineers with strong domain knowledge to work on multiple fire panel brands (Notifier, Esser and Gent)RESPONSIBILITIES
Main responsibility for this position is to develop & maintain the system/subsystem hardware required for Fire Alarm Control Panels requiring expertise in analog and digital circuit design.
SPECIFIC TASKS INCLUDE:
Develop hardware design and testing of panels, loop cards, etc with adherence to cybersecurity
Effort estimation, planning, technically manage external consultants and suppliers
Maintain know how on applicable industrial FIRE standards
Interact with marketing/offering/PO to define and clarify System requirements
Support the manufacturing with best practices for product introduction
Generate innovative Ideas, Visit customers as part of OVOC (observational Voice of Customer) activities
Investigate complex customer issues as required
Lead and mentor the team where required
MUST HAVE
Bachelor or master's degree in engineering with specialization in hardware design.
Experience in Hardware design & development using various microcontroller platforms
Experience in designing EMI/EMC compliant circuits including power supply, charging circuits etc
Deep understanding on different communication protocols like Ethernet, CAN, SPI, RS422, RS485
Good understanding and experience in taking the product through the development life cycle in to manufacturing and launch
Good communication and leadership skills
Fluent in spoken and written English
Ability to travel worldwide ca. 20%
WE VALUE
Knowledge of product-specific certification standards (EN54, FM, UL684, VDE 0833, VDE 0834)
FPGA/CPLD based product design
