    Description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Dispute Resolution and Litigation team. The role presents an opportunity of career progression as the Firm is looking to grow this area of the practise. By joining our team you will run a mixed caseload, which will primarily involve Contentious Probate/Trust claims and Trust of Land Act Claims, but also other disputes including:

    • Disputes as to the validity of a will
    • Claims pursuant to the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 Claims relating to the misconduct of Executors and Trustees
    • Contentious Court of Protection matters
    • Trust disputes
    • Claims under the Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996
    • Breaches of contract
    • Partner/shareholder issues
    • Contentious insolvencies
    • Intellectual property litigation
    • Professional negligence
    • Real estate litigation

      Experience and skills

      We are looking for an experienced Litigator for this senior role. However, less experienced candidates who can prove they have the skills and qualities needed will be considered.

      As an excellent communicator you will excel at building strong working relationships with colleagues and other external stakeholders to ensure the service provided is delivered in a timely fashion, managing costs and clients' expectations.

      We are looking for a self-sufficient individual with excellent IT skills and ability to develop positive relationships with a strong focus on marketing and networking for business development.

      Geoffrey Leaver Solicitors was founded in 1965. Since then, the Firm has grown with the city, attracting high quality lawyers from Milton Keynes and London, and we are proud of the fact that three of our current Partners started their legal careers with the firm. We also expanded considerably in 2006 after being joined by a number of key lawyers from the regional heavyweight Fennemores Solicitors – which added more depth and expertise to our Dispute Resolution and Litigation, Property and Personal Injury departments.

      The Dispute Resolution and Litigation Team includes four experienced partners who have a breadth of expertise handling complex and high value commercial disputes. In addition, the team has an experienced litigator who specialises in handling Contentious Probate and Trust claims and Trust of Land Act claims. Today we have over 40 staff members – and many of our partners are accredited specialists in the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners legal directories. We are a skilled and experienced team who play a full part in the business and local community.
