    Job Description

    This is a new opportunity to work as part of our Global Procurement, Production & Supply IT team to deliver IT solutions to our Direct Procurement organisation.

    As a Procurement Solution Architect, you will work closely with our Global Direct Procurement team, process experts and our full IT team around the world to use your deep understanding of the internal IT landscape and external Procurement technology solutions to develop and implement designs for new business challenges. Most of all you'll be able to bring together your love of both Procurement and IT to work on all facets of architecture – technology, data, process, integration, and organizational impact.

    Our IT strategy not only encompasses major platforms relevant for Procurement such as SAP S4/HANA, Ariba, SAP MDG, but our drive to deliver business solutions faster and in a more adaptable way means we are increasingly developing low code applications and using microservices to meet the business needs.

    We work within an agile squad approach, you will either lead or be part of the team that delivers IT solutions from start to finish; you will also be an IT integrator and problem solver, known as the "go to" person by stakeholders for Procurement-related challenges or questions.

    Your main accountabilities will be:

    • Lead solution architecture and development and deliver change through Squads in own domain or participate in Squads for other domains.
    • Apply the appropriate change methodology to Squad work.
    • Apply deep Direct Procurement and Supplier data understanding as well as technical solution knowledge to problem identification and solving - and ensure solutions to problems are in alignment with Syngenta architectural principles.
    • Provide appropriate costing input to new solutions or change, taking into consideration both project as well as operations costs.
    • Be the mediator of IT matters to your business stakeholders and vice versa.
    • Bring in your expertise and work with the wider Procurement and IT organisations to develop visions and technology roadmaps for future Procurement needs.

    You will be a great fit if you have:

    • Career experience as an IT expert working with Procurement (Direct Procurement, Sourcing and/or Indirect) functional business leaders and teams.
    • Extensive career experience in envisioning, leading and delivering change projects, including the creation and ownership of their functional/solution design.
    • University undergraduate and/or advanced degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Sciences, MBA, or other relevant educational experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to create and sustain functional & IT blueprints / roadmaps.
    • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex problems and situations and make big picture design / architecture connections.
    • Demonstrated customer centric delivery and value outcome mindset.
    • Excellent working knowledge of Procurement processes and systems. Specifically, ERP systems (e.g. SAP ECC/S4, Master Data Governance (MDG)), Procurement solutions such as Ariba and external Procurement data providers (e.g. for sustainability data).
    • Supplier master data management, including data design, governance best practice.
    • Reporting, analytics and automation experience that have enabled a more productive and insightful Procurement function.
    • This role holder also should ideally be a curious student of business and functional operations, digitalization and its impact on the customer and internal workforce across the big picture and down to the fine detail.
    • This role holder also needs to have a good balance of an innovator, detail orientation, analytical ability, pragmatism and P&L mindset, seeing IT as an enabler to drive profitable business outcomes and customer satisfaction.
