    About this roleWe are looking to recruit a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team and be a part of something exceptional.

    You'll work in a cross-functional, agile team alongside a quality engineer, product manager, designer, and a delivery manager, all within a single autonomous team.

This includes taking a leading role in design and architecture decisions.

    You will have an active role in all aspects of the development life cycle, from story refinement to deployment to production.

    Write unit, integration, and end to end tests to ensure code quality. Lead the effort in setting up and maintaining testing frameworks and best practices.
    Identify and improve parts of the platform to make it more robust and scalable. Lead optimisation projects and guide less experienced team members in these tasks.
    Proactively contribute to a team culture that values quality, robustness, and knowledge sharing.
    Research and evaluate new technologies that could improve the quality of our software.
    Contribute to the product blog.

    What you are good atYou have a solid foundation in TypeScript and and have experience with AWS Serverless architecture.

    You possess strong skills in building and maintaining APIs and are comfortable working with DynamoDB.

    Your expertise includes backend caching mechanisms, message queuing, monitoring systems, as well as CI/CD practices, automated testing strategies and third-party API integrations.

    Strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for back-end architectures.
    You enjoy significant autonomy in your role, leading backend decisions, project directions, and technology choices. Your ability to solve complex problems independently is paramount.
    Building products that delight people while also being stable, scalable, secure, observable, and performant is something you're enthusiastic about.
    You have keen attention to detail, are adaptable, and work well in a team.
    You are keen to mentor junior engineers and help them grow.
    You are up for sharing knowledge to strengthen the ability of the team.
