The role of a Senior Nurse (RMN/RNLD) within the Mental Health Hospital involves:

Adhering at all times to the NMC code of professional conduct

Ensuring that you are up to date with relevant hospital policies.

Contributing to pre-admission assessment of referred patient

Contributing to the comprehensive assessment of a patient on admission.

Working collaboratively with the individuals to develop their care plan

Monitoring and reviewing individualised patient plans, within an evidence-based framework.

Managing medication as per hospital policy.

Acting as a role model for other staff, demonstrating good practice

Acting as a mentor for junior staff
