    Description

    The Company

    This is a fantastic opportunity with a prominent company's center of excellence, privately owned, and operating in 20 countries. In the UK, they design and produce custom products, with a majority being exported.

    They hold multiple patents and are dedicated to ongoing product development utilizing concurrent engineering.

    You will be part of a well-established, sizable team that is eager to welcome you aboard.

    Please Note: Candidates must have the right to work permanently in the UK.

    Mechanical Development Engineer Package and Benefits

    • £37,000 - £45,000 salary range
    • Hybrid working model – two days remote per week post-probation
    • 37.5 hours per week, 8:30am – 5:15pm, early finish at 1:00pm on Fridays (flexible hours)
    • 24 days holiday, increasing to 26 with tenure, plus bank holidays
    • Company performance bonus, Free life Assurance, Joint contributory pension scheme, Private medical insurance (after a qualifying period)

    Commutable From: Northampton, Milton Keynes, Leicester, Peterborough, Rugby, Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Banbury, Market Harborough, St Neots

    Mechanical Development Engineer Candidate Requirements

    • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent; HNC / HND considered with relevant experience
    • Proficiency in 3D design, preference for SolidWorks
    • Solid product development background
    • Experience in Design for Manufacture
    • Essential problem-solving skills
    • Drafting experience
    • Some calculations proficiency
    • Knowledge of GD&T and simulation beneficial

    Mechanical Development Engineer Key Responsibilities

    • Lead development projects from concept to full product realization
    • Implement design changes for product range
    • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOM's using SolidWorks and PLM software
    • Provide technical support for manufacturing and assembly problem-solving
    • Conduct validation tests and summarize results in technical reports
    • Collaborate with various departments and suppliers to enhance designs for manufacturability
    • Validate structural integrity using formula-based calculations
