    Emerging Market and Foreign Exchange Macro Business Control Officer
    London

    As a Barclays Emerging Market and Foreign Exchange (EM & FX) Macro Business Control Officer, you will partner with the business providing controls-related subject matter expertise, helping them comply with requirements under the Barclays Control Framework (BCF) in a sustainable manner, achieving compliance now, and importantly through their strategic plans. This includes Investment Banking, Global Markets, Research, Consumer Banking, Private Banking and Corporate Banking businesses and Barclays Bank Plc Chief Operating Office (BBPLC COO).

    What will you be doing?


    • Being the first line of defence Risk and Control function, directly supporting the Macro business within Global Markets, with specific focus on the Rates business line

    • Aligning to a designated portfolio of Business, Functions or Horizontals to provide input, guidance and risk management expertise across the Controls environment

    • Providing clear articulation of the risk and control landscapes through your understanding of control requirements for relevant internal Barclays and external Regulatory policies.

    • Ensuring consistency and quality delivery of the Controls Strategy, Control Frameworks, improvement initiatives and capabilities across each Business, Functions or Horizontals

    • Developing and maintaining relationships with senior colleagues and stakeholders - with the ability to effectively challenge risk and control decisions, when needed

    • Driving improved and sustainable controls culture through use of data led relevant indicators to ensure Control Forums are insightful and conversations risk focused

    What we're looking for

    • Prior experience within Markets, or within a first, second, or third line of defence role directly aligned to Markets, is required for this role

    • Ability to influence at senior management level, applying judgement to balance risk versus business interest whilst ensuring compliance to all relevant policies and standards

    • Robust understanding and knowledgeable on aspects of Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Operational Risk Framework and Barclays Control Framework

    • Experience of working in or within a Control type role / team with the ability to demonstrate a risk management mindset

    Skills that will help you in the role

    • Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present credibly to senior stakeholders

    • Highly experienced in dealing with multiple stakeholders in different business functions who have different objectives Barclays Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance, Fraud, Legal

    In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
