    Job summary

    A temporary vacancy of 9 months for an Engagement & Participation worker has arisen within the Involvement Recovery & Wellness Centre, to cover maternity leave.

    The role requires you to champion participation and engagement within the service and with partner agencies to embed the ethos and promote the service's values of engagement.

    This post is part time hours per week.

    Main duties of the job

    To work to ensure that participation is a positive and mutually beneficial experience for everyone, including users of the service, carers, staff and other stakeholders; addressing any issues to access and support that may act as a barrier to participation.

    Working with users of the service, carers and staff in groups or on a one to one basis to sign post to both CWP and external involvement events.

    Support the IRWC with the facilitation of events/workshops where appropriate

    The service is recovery focused and offers self management and engagement support for the Specialist Mental Health Group Cheshire Wide.

    Job responsibilities

    To work with the users of the service, carers and staff in groups or on a one to one basis to sign post to both CWP and external involvement events.

    Support the IRWC with the facilitation of workshops where appropriate.

    To support with the transformation of the service by maintaining and growing a wide network of stakeholders who will inform service design and improvement.

    Recognise the value and the involvement of vulnerable and protected groups, and ensure the service engages with these groups to inform service design.

    Be flexible in the approach to engagement by considering a range of meeting and event types including different times, to maximise on engagement opportunities.

    Work to ensure equality of engagement opportunities across all Cheshire East and West districts

    Support the co-ordination process to involve users of the service and carers during the recruitment process for the Trust and partner agencies where appropriate.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • 5 GCSE (or equivalent) including Maths and English, pass A-C
  • Desirable

  • Relevant qualification in Participation and Engagement
  • Knowledge and Expertise

    Essential

  • Good knowledge of Participation and Engagement principles
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and the appropriate referrals pathways
  • Good communication skills and the confidence, experience and ability to deliver training and presentations
  • Ability to build relationships and develop networks with stakeholders
  • Good understanding of Equality and Diversity in relation to area of work.

  • Experience of working within participation and engagement
  • Experience of organising, delivering and evaluating engagement opportunities including service user feedback.
  • Experience of communicating with a range of groups; inc. service users, stakeholders, third sector partners
  • Experience of managing a digital platform including social media.
