    Senior Electrical Engineer required by our client to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in London, UK

    About the Role

    The role is for a senior electrical engineer to be part of the team and deliver the electrical permanent works for our Joint Venture Clients in the East section of the Tideway Tunnel.

    The successful candidate will work within the Contractor's MEICA team, reporting to the MEICA Project Manager, and will work alongside the many other disciplines and stakeholders that make up the Tideway Tunnel project delivery team.

    The project offices and worksites are in East London. Although much of the work is site based, there is some flexibility with respect to working from home for this role when site works do not require attendance. Attendance to UK manufacturing facilities for factory inspection and acceptance testing of electrical equipment will at times be necessary.

    What we are looking for

    • A qualified senior electrical engineer with a proven track record, preferably with experience of working on large and complex construction projects, and within the Water Industry. Experienced in DSEAR /ATEX installations and regulations.
    • Someone capable of planning and managing the delivery of electrical installation works, as predominantly delivered by electrical subcontractors, and that can show leadership in maintaining high standards of safety and quality in the delivery of those works.
    • Experience in managing electrical subcontractors in their fulfilment of the project design, budget and programme, and to administer change, resolve non-conformances and facilitate the efficient completion of their works.
    • Someone who can operate effectively as part of a large project delivery team, while being proactive and collaborative in interfacing with multiple stakeholders and disciplines, and across multiple worksites.
    • Experience of electrical design management, procurement, installation management and regulatory testing.
    • Someone who is comfortable engaging with clients and end users and has good communication skills.
    • Experience of being formally appointed to carrying out an LV electrical authorised person safety role, implementing electrical safety rules and procedures such as isolations, permitting and sanctions to live test.
    • Someone with competences and experience of working to construction health and safety management regulations.
    • Strong engineering and technical skills in electrical engineering fundamentals are required for this role.

    What is the role.

    • Ensuring a safe delivery of electrical works on site to industry quality standards and project specifications, and to meet the overall programme.
    • Managing a small electrical team to deliver the works.
    • Reviewing designs and managing change control for the LV electrical scope of works, inclusive of MCCs, control panels, LV installation works, earthing arrangements. Managing design change control processes throughout the installation.
    • Procurement and supply chain management with respect to the delivery of the electrical scope on the project.
    • Planning, coordinating, and attending factory acceptance tests for local control panels and MCCs.
    • Managing and coordinating on-site electrical works, inclusive of modifications to existing client's hardware, UKPN supplies, and the testing of electrical on site hardware and installations.
    • Collaborating and managing interfaces with other disciplines to ensure coordinated delivery of works.
    • Liaising with client engineers and quality inspectors, and scheduling of client inspections and tests.
    • Managing quality assurance processes, non-conformances and the submission of quality records and certificates.
