Position:
As our Editorial Assistant your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Editorial Team with administrative tasks, ensuring the department runs smoothly and efficiently
- Supporting the Senior Content Editors and Content Editor with the recipe testing process for Jamie Oliver's books and other key projects, as required. This includes deputising for them when needed, carrying out administrative tasks, creating layouts and record keeping, and working with the Food Team to answer reciperelated queries
- Be the point of contact for all recipe usage queries, with a brilliant knowledge of the backcatalogue
- Write regular online features and newsletters under the guidance of the Senior Content Editors, and own the process from start to finish
- Assist the Senior Content Editors in creating, populating and managing all editorial content calendars, both online and offline. This includes selecting content for the online homepage and recipe of the day, and helping to research content for features and newsletters
- Responsible for uploading all new recipes to the database, website, and associated digital services, and logging all recipe usage
- Support the Senior Content Editors by communicating with wider teams on content briefs to ensure a smooth flow of information and to aid efficient delivery of content
- Assist the Senior Content Editors and Content Editor by pulling, formatting and updating content, as and when required, to support the wider business
- Assist the Editorial Team with the ongoing project of editing and updating our backcatalogue of recipes, including getting all online recipes into stepbystep format, and take responsibility for all associated record keeping and progress updates
Requirements:
Education:
educated to degree level or equivalent, with fantastic organisational and communication skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
Previous experience in a publishing or media environment would be a major plus.Key skills:
Excellent organisational skills and an exceptional attention to detail are essential
Strong writing skills, with a brilliant grasp of grammar, punctuation and spelling, would be great
Great communication and IT skills (InDesign experience preferable)
Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
A positive attitude and a willingness to put forward creative ideas
Editorial is a close-knit team where the ability to work well together is vital
