    Job summary

    A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health, Safety and Property Facilitator within the Care, Quality and Governance Team. This is an exciting role that will play a key part in the delivery of Cranstouns Quality and Governance strategy.

    Main duties of the job

    You will support safety and compliance communication, advise team members on health and safety policies and processes, promote a culture of best practice, help to deliver health and safety objectives and facilitate compliance with relevant legislation and Cranstoun policies.

    You will also be a strong role model of the Cranstoun values: ambitious, creative, compassionate, collaborative and respectful. You will have the ability to self-manage and work independently without close supervision.

    Job responsibilities

    Responsible for:

    1. Health and Safety

    Assist the Health, Safety and Property Manager to implement relevantprocedures and protocols.

    Promote good practices to maintain a positive health and safety cultureacross the organisation.

    Coordinate an effective health and safety induction for new team members,including the maintenance of accurateinduction records.

    Coordinate activities relating to team members who move roles withinCranstoun or leave the organisation.

    Assist with risk assessments, reviewing them at appropriate intervals andcheck that they are used appropriately by team members.

    Be responsible for collating and analysing information including the maintenanceof health and safety records.

    Assist in accident, incident and near miss investigations as required.

    Coordinate documentation relating to owner drivers.

    Assist in health and safety site visits and audits including analysis ofthe results.

    Coordinate the training of appropriate numbers of first aiders and fire marshals.

    Respond to requests for information, data, statistics and progressreports as required.

    2. Complianceand Risk

    Provide health and safety information for organisation-wide compliancereports.

    Assist with processes designed to ensure compliance, such as statutoryinspections and maintenance of safety critical equipment.

    Assist in monitoring compliance with relevant policies and procedures andraise any shortcomings with the Health, Safety and PropertyManager or appropriatemanagement representative.

    Assist in collating information and support the preparation of annualmonitoring reports.

    Assist in procedures associated with the disposal of hazardous waste.

    3. Care, Quality and Governance Team

    Work collaboratively as part of the Care, Quality and Governance Team.

    Attend and participate within Care, Quality and Governance Team meetings,contributing to the planning and implementation of the Quality Governancestrategies and action plans.

    Attend and participate in supervision as required in line with CranstounPolicy.

    Support the Care, Quality and Governance Team with report writing andpresentations relevant to the role to both internal and external audiences.

    4. Data Protection andConfidentiality

    Ensure activity related to quality and governance is conducted in linewith the requirements of UK General Data Protection Regulation and CranstounInformation Governance Policies

    Manage information handled within the role sensitively andconfidentially, particularly person identifiable and sensitive businessinformation.

    5. General

    Undertake any training courses required to fulfil the role.

    Author and circulate communications and bulletins relevant to the role asrequired.

    Promote safety and quality governance throughout Cranstoun in a positiveway at all times, acting as a point of contact for queries relevant to therole.

    Meet deadlines and manage own time effectively without close day-to-daysupervision.

    Carry out all aspects of the role in line with Cranstoun policies andprocedures consulting sources of expertise where required.

    Take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of yourself, others andresources whilst at work, in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act.

    Develop skills and deputise for other team members.

    Carry out other duties appropriate to the role, as necessary orrequested.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Educated to GSCE level or equivalent ( level 2 or level 3)
  • Managing time and prioritising workload
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Experience of accurate and timely reporting and of meeting demanding deadlines
  • Desirable

  • Ability to present information in a range of ways making it accessible to a wide range of audiences
  • Innovative, dynamic and ability to take the initiative
  • Ability to travel independently between services
  • Ability to learn and apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations
